Introduction:

Juglans regia is a monoecious, heterodichogamous, wind-pollinated tree with significant economic value and medicinal importance for human health. It is widely disseminated and grown commercially in diverse temperate regions of Asia, Europe, North and South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. J. regia has a very long history of cultivation in China and elsewhere. In China, it is grown throughout most of the country, except in some Southeastern coastal areas. It usually grows on hillsides and hills at 400-1800 m above sea level. Kernels of J. regia have a high oil content and can be eaten raw or squeezed for oil. It is consumed in large quantities by people, therefore, it has a very important place in the public nutritive habits. In addition to edible nuts, walnut wood is a high-quality hardwood material.
